It took just 12 months to complete the construction of an extension to a children and youth psychiatric centre in the city of Geel on what was one of Belgium’s largest CLT building sites. A total of 34 units, which are predominantly used as patient and office spaces, were accommodated on a net useful area of 3 054 m². There were many reasons behind the customer’s decision to use CLT by Stora Enso. Visible wood creates a living experience that is close to nature and the prefabricated CLT elements facilitate short construction times. A total of 1 400 m³ CLT by Stora Enso was used for this construction project.
