Version of this project
The wooden roof construction of a newly erected Frontón (playing field of the Basque nationals sport Pelota) has been awarded with the prize for urbanism at the 13th Spanish Architecture Biennale. With astonishing sobriety, this architectural building draws its expression and originality from the synthesis of three materials — wood, concrete and zinc. At first site this building impresses with its simplicity — particularly due to the massive wood construction with CLT by Stora Enso.
