Welcome to the 2024 Ski Flying World Championship, Kulm in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria, where everyone's heart is sure to beat a little faster.

This Athletes' Village, built from a sustainable Sylva™ CLT kit by Stora Enso, in just 2 quick months, will provide an inviting space for the ski flyers to prepare for the competition during the event.

The building was designed with a flexible reuse approach, which means after the World Championships, the Kulm Municipality can repurpose the space in many different ways, for example, events or local clubs if they wish to do so.

No part of the trees used in this project went to waste. Even the cut-outs from windows and doors were used to make tables and chairs for furnishing the building.

Stora Enso has previously delivered projects at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld and Planica (also available to view in this Reference Library). Based on this past involvement, the organisers (ÖSV/Ski Austria) contacted Stora Enso to propose a wooden solution for this athletes' village.
