Version of this project
This is Stora Enso's first delivery to New Zealand - Portus Property's $30 million office block in central Christchurch.
Portus Property Investors specified Sylva™ by Stora Enso for their $30 million development on the grounds of the former Excelsior Hotel, which was sadly devastated by the earthquake in 2011.
Ignite Architecture has designed a robust, four-level, solid wood-framed building using a Sylva™ Walls and Floors due to their low carbon footprint and excellent seismic-resistant properties.
When complete, the mixed-use space is set to be one of the most climate-smart buildings in Christchurch, offering three highly desirable and durable upper floors with offices, retail, and hospitality options on the ground floor, and basement parking.
Complete with a curved glass façade, an open atrium staircase, and a full-height green wall for a biophilic effect, this building will be stunning when completed in 2025.
By specifying Sylva™ Portus is on track to achieve its ambitious environmental goals (High NABERS certification and Greenstar Rating 5).
