Energieinsel is a specialist in the generation and storage of solar power. They live and breathe sustainability in all of their efforts. The company building in Vehlefanz, north of Berlin, was completed in 2022, is designed as an energy-optimised timber construction. The company building combines administration, office and storage facilities.

The combination of office building and adjacent warehouse was well chosen. Right next to the first office building, a new building was built, which visually resembles the first. The result was a perfect working environment on 975 m² with plenty of space to develop creative and sustainable solutions for our environment. The floor area is divided into one third office space and two thirds hall space. A good challenge for us, because we were also allowed to design the hall in timber construction. The supporting structure of the 40 m long hall is formed by nine glulam trusses. The façade colour corresponds to the brand colour of Energieinsel GmbH and thus sets a visual highlight. Two almost uniform two-storey low-rise buildings have street-facing window fronts on the ground floor, with reception and exhibition areas where customers and partners are welcomed. The offices in the building are arranged along a central access corridor.
