Version of this project
Bad St. Leonhard unit in southern Austria produces sawn timber, processed timber and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), primarily for the construction industry.
The mill was founded in1885. In 1994 Stora Enso started to operate the Mill and in 2009 a new wooden office building was built with Stora Enso's own cross-laminated timber (CLT) from their mill.
CLT is a mass timber product that can replace concrete and steel in modern construction. As buildings become more sustainable and timber structures grow larger, CLT has become a popular solution for floors, roofs, walls, and stairs due to its strength, appearance, and versatility.
