The compatibility of wood and strong alcohol makes immediate sense to whisky lovers, after all, a lot of the flavour variety of the high-percentage whisky comes from the oak barrels. At the Aurora Spirit Distillery in Norway, the solid-liquid combination is reinterpreted: In Lyngen near Tromsø, the northernmost distillery in the world has been built, predominantly using massive wood. A total of 98 m³ CLT by Stora Enso in visible quality have been used for this construction project.
