Stora Enso is a leading provider of sustainable wood-based solutions for the construction industry globally.

This mill alone has the capacity for:

• 700,000 m³ Sawn timber
• 450,000 m³ Processed timber
• 110,000 m³ Cross-laminated timber (CLT)
• 500,000 m² Coatings (Hydrophobic, Hydrophobic UV, and Insecticide)

Ybbs Mill was established in 1983 producing classic sawn timber. The CLT Production Hall opened in 2012. Ever since, there has been an increasing demand for low carbon building with wood products. To respond to the growing interest Stora Enso invested EUR 9 million into a state-of-the-art, fully automated coating line that became fully operational in 2024. 

Precoating reduces the risk of expensive remedial work, and shortens construction. By fully automating the process, in a factory controlled setting Stora Enso has a global reputation for delivering a very high standard of quality and efficiency.

Construction of the production units

Construction of the production halls are made with wood by Stora Enso. The materials used for the coating line include 610m³ CLT, 210m³ GLT Beams and 25m² of Super-VI-Lamellas. The materials for the CLT Hall are on listed under the products tab.
