Harald Aichinger, Managing Director of Meisterbau Aichinger in Wiener Neustadt, had sustainability at heart when building his new company building. And it was important for him to use the same building materials they offer their customers.

Construction started in June 2021, and the new building opened in July 2022.

Aichinger's energy-efficient construction includes a thermally insulated floor slab in the production hall, underfloor heating in the offices, KIELSTEG ceiling with a photovoltaic system on the roof, sustainable insulation materials (soft wood fibre) for the plastered façade, wooden façade, ceiling cooling in the offices using a heat pump, building control system, complete LED lighting, press for recycling the wood chips, energy-efficient construction for low heating costs, and to support the bio economy.

Using a sustainable Sylva™ CLT building kit by Stora Enso and KIELSTEG elements for the ceiling worked very well for this customer. Sylva CLT Walls and Floors offered several advantages, including a dry and fast construction with no need for a vapour barrier. The exposed wood is beautiful and is a showcase example for their customers.
