Version of this project
The new wooden Lee Building in Bath (United Kingdom) has been designed to be educationally innovative with open, flexible breakout spaces ranging from 10 to 70 m² around a double height hub space leading out onto the surrounding landscape. The Science, Technology & Mathematics (STEM) focused building has been named among the "50 Best Buildings" in Britain in 2014 and has won a South West Regional and National RIBA 2014 Award. CLT’s potential for enhancing the internal environment was an important factor in the design and approximately 80% of the material has been left exposed internally. A total of 185 m³ CLT by Stora Enso was used for this project.
