Welcome to Scotland's new low-carbon flagship building! Where industry, academia, and the public sector will work together on pioneering manufacturing research.

The awe-inspiring 18,288 m² building is around 1.5 times the size of a football pitch will be used for the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland's £11.8 million research and development program with the global aerospace firm when completed. And accommodates the personnel and equipment needed for the programme and house state-of-the-art engineering equipment.

The building uses a Sylva by Stora Enso building kit with CLT Floors, Walls and Roof elements.

The building is engineered and installed by B&K Structures. The roof rests upon V-shaped glulam columns, creating a striking engineering design.

The Institute is hosted by the University of Strathclyde and is supported by the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, High-Value Manufacturing Catapult, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Funding Council and Renfrewshire Council.

By using innovative technologies and materials like Sylva by Stora Enso that have been, or can be, remanufactured and reused, the design has been awarded BREEAM 'outstanding' for sustainability.
