Version of this project
The joint Czech-Austrian project Olšina Visitor Center and Olšina Nature Trail was completed in 2020 in southern Bohemia. Both will be appreciated by nature lovers, families with children, tourists and schools. A new modern wooden building with interactive elements has been built in the Olšina recreation center, where you can learn a lot about the fauna and flora of Olšina and its surroundings. The seven-kilometer-long trail lines the adjacent pond. It leads not only overland, but also through wetlands and peat bogs, but also over the water of a pond on wooden piles.
The Olšina visitor center in Czech Republic is an educational institution for the general public and is characterized by the usage of CLT-massive wood elements and BSH profils in passive standard. Thanks to its natural appearance and the green roof top, the project integrate harmonically with nature. The modern construction material has an extremely welcome side effect: the healthy climate within wooden structures creates a particularly pleasant indoor environment and has a demonstrably positive effect on the well-being. Altogether the educational building comprises 273 m².
