The new kindergarten combines sustainable construction with well-thought-out planning that is specifically geared towards the needs of children. Efficient planning was made possible by creating two symmetrical axes and designing four group rooms with identical geometry. This clear structure not only supports the sense of orientation and safety but was also the basis for rapid technical implementation in planning, production, delivery and assembly.

The load-bearing walls made of cross-laminated timber (Sylva™ CLT Walls) impress with their high degree of prefabrication, which ensures a short construction time without component moisture and drying times.

Over 50% of the building was constructed using mass timber, which enabled the project to receive funding support from the Austrian Forest Fund.

With a usable area of 1,047.78m² and an additional 2,000m² of open space, the kindergarten offers both space to learn and play, as well as room for creativity.

In addition to the four spacious group rooms, each with a 35m² gallery, the building includes a dining area and a light-flooded atrium as its central heart. This child-friendly architecture promotes a healthy indoor climate, creates a sense of security and inspires the youngest users.

This project is an example of how wood, as a building material, creates spaces that promote child development and combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability. Because wood is more than just a material - it is an investment in the future of our children.
