Version of this project
The first retail center made entirely out of timber in France was inaugurated on the 21st of May in Aubergenville, 30 km´s west from Paris. The 20,000 m² project represents a new generation of great real estate projects where the environmental credentials starts by the choice of the materials and the construction. The internal and external structural walls have been built out of Stora Enso CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). The roof structure is composed of glulam beams and light frame trusses. Wood has been chosen for its prefabrication and its fast building solution. Stora Enso CLT combines all the advantages to answer the modern construction challenge: low environmental impact, high technical performance and construction speed. This operation has been certified BREEAM International 2013 with “excellent” level due to its performance in regards of energy and water savings, comfort and health.
