Welcome to the Tuinfluiter, a new residential complex comprising 30 homes, including 12 three-room apartments, 4 two-room apartments, and 14 studios, that was completed in Q3 2023

The 2,050 m² project by Finch Buildings was completed in just seven months with the installation of 4 modules per day. In total, 51 prefabricated mass timber modules were stacked to form three stories. The exterior is modern and clean, and on the inside, the wood is left exposed for a natural, warm, and inviting finish. Stora Enso delivered prefabricated Sylva™ CLT Walls and Floors, and GLT Beams and Columns for the Tuinfluiter project to Finch Buildings in collaboration with main contractor, Ooijevaar and Jumatt who further processed the modules before delivery to site which enabled the rapid construction and reduced the need for on-site labour.

All of the elements in the Sylva kit are made from renewable wood sources, contributing to low- embodied emissions compared to traditional building materials like concrete and steel.

Future Projects in Dijk en Waard

The success of the Tuinfluiter project is just the beginning. Woonwaard has several upcoming projects in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, all of which will continue to emphasize sustainable construction practices:

Rembrandt Erf: Scheduled to start in 2024, this project will include 63 social rental homes and 10 mid-market rental homes.

De Waterkers: Set for completion in 2024, this development will feature 24 social rental homes and 18 care apartments.

Berckheidelaan: Starting in 2024, this project will consist of 29 apartments and studios.
