Version of this project
Three sustainable homes built in a tight space and framed in just three weeks.
The site of these three new homes is completely enclosed by commercial and residential properties making excavating the heavy foundations challenging, disruptive and considered to be not commercially viable. But with lightweight Sylva CLT building kit by Stora Enso a building solution was found.
The homes are were engineered and installed by Olive Modular.
Biodiversity and energy efficiency are also considered with a sedum roof and the use of aerogel insulation. The development won an award from Sussex Heritage Trust after the properties achieved an outstanding Energy Performance (EPC rating of A:102).
