Version of this project
The first multi-storey CLT residential building in Hamburg by Stora Enso is completed. Instead of brickwork and reinforced concrete, CLT by Stora Enso was being used for the project. Three four-storey buildings were constructed for family-friendly accommodation on a site at the old goods station. Eleven apartments have been built in total. In the case of the Barmbek apartments, it took two weeks per house to install the timber components. This was made possible by a high level of industrial prefabrication. Cross Laminated Timber meets the demands of modern architects with wide openings and wall protrusions.
