Construction of the first timber building using CLT solid timber is currently underway in the heart of Toulouse in the South of France. The 4-storey CLT residential buildings consists of 50 modules (module sizes range from 18 to 25 m²) manufactured by the company Pyrénées Charpentes. The individual modules are delivered – together with kitchen units, bath and WC – to the building site ready for installation. It will take just 10 days to erect the building, and a total of 470 cubic metres of CLT will be used. The building is due to be completed in June 2015.
