Version of this project
Stora Enso is currently the provider of the solid wood elements of the 48-meter-high building situated in Penttilänranta, an area in the city of Joensuu (Finland). Building materials CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) and LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) by Stora Enso are particularly light-weight, yet strong – ideal for use in the construction of high-rise buildings. The project named “Light House Joensuu” will accommodate students in a total of 117 apartments after its completion scheduled for autumn 2019. Once completed, the 14-storey building will be Finland’s tallest wooden high-rise building.
